Security Officer Unarmed Part Time Multiple Shifts

About the role

As a Part‑Time Security Officer / Patrol Driver in Sandy Level, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as utilities. The position is unarmed, involves routine patrols, a visible presence, monitoring access points and alarms, and providing outstanding customer service. The role uses the “Claim a Shift” platform for flexible scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, contractors, and visitors by carrying out site‑specific security procedures, access protocols, and emergency response activities at a utility location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, perimeter areas, and other designated locations to identify unusual conditions and deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed, and maintain accurate visitor, vehicle, and incident documentation.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and emergency responders according to established procedures.
• Report observed hazards, damaged infrastructure, suspicious activity, and policy violations to Allied Universal leadership and designated site representatives.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements (required for driving positions).
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet (preferred).
• Access control and badge experience (preferred).
• Alarm panel experience (preferred).
• Guard card or license (preferred).
• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles (21+ for armed roles).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Pass a background investigation in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Pass a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment, subject to state/local regulations.

Daytime shifts: Wednesday 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM; Friday 12:00 AM – 8:00 AM
