Security Officer Unarmed Full Time Weekdays Afternoon

About the Role

As a Patrol Unarmed Security Officer at a utilities location in Salem, VA, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support access control and alarm response activities. You will provide outstanding customer service and clear communication while contributing to a caring, reliable team that acts with integrity and puts people first.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, contractors, and visitors at a utility location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of utility facilities, grounds, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials as directed by site procedures, and maintain accurate visitor, contractor, and incident documentation.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate site contacts and emergency responders as required.
• Report maintenance concerns, hazards, suspicious activity, and other security-related issues observed during patrols in accordance with site policies.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation and drug screen in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Preferred Qualifications

• Comfort using a computer or tablet.
• Customer service experience.
• Access control and badge experience.
• Alarm panel experience.
• A Guard Card or license.

Pay

$18.67 per hour.
