Security Officer, Unarmed

About the role

Sentara is hiring an unarmed Security Officer to work onsite at Sentara Fort Norfolk in Norfolk, VA. The position is full‑time, second shift (evenings) Monday through Friday, 2:30 PM to 10:30 PM.

Responsibilities

• Provide a physically safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and employees.
• Actively patrol campus and monitor activity in and around buildings and grounds.
• Respond appropriately to routine and emergency situations.
• Perform camera surveillance.
• Maintain department logs and records.
• Use computer skills for documentation of daily activities.
• Conduct security investigations and evaluate situations.
• Take appropriate steps for professional and timely resolution.
• Participate in Sentara’s Fit for Duty fitness assessment.

Requirements

• High school diploma (required).
