About the role
As an Unarmed Alarm Patrol Security Officer in Northport, AL, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as healthcare. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff. You will provide exceptional customer service, communicate clearly, and respond to security-related concerns with integrity.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and contractors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities in a healthcare location.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of hospital buildings, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual activity, hazards, and access concerns.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, contacting appropriate personnel and emergency responders as needed.
- Assist with access control by monitoring entrances, verifying authorized access, and directing patients and visitors to appropriate areas.
- Document observations, incidents, and patrol activities accurately and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
Requirements
- Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
