Security Officer Site Patrol Role

About the role

As a Security Officer Site Patrol Role in West Des Moines, IA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Financial Institutions, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a respected financial institution location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, stay visible to help reduce incidents, and support access awareness throughout the property.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-related policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a financial services location.
• Respond to incidents, unusual activity, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting details and communicating with site contacts and/or public responders as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location, lobby areas, offices, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and report security-related concerns.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials when required, and help to control access for employees, visitors, and/or deliveries in accordance with site procedures.
• Support closing and opening routines, observe ATM and banking area activity for suspicious behavior, and report maintenance, lighting, and/or security-related issues that could affect daily operations.

Requirements

• Have 2 or more years of security-related experience.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licenses are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Skills

• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of security protocols and emergency response procedures.
