As a Security Officer Secure Entry Operations in Portsmouth, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Aero/Defense, and more. As an Access Control Officer at an aerospace and defense location, you will manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and assist with maintaining a secure environment.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors at an aerospace and defense location by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and authorization credentials, manage visitor access, and maintain accurate access-related records in accordance with site procedures.
Respond to access-related incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders as directed.
Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, restricted areas, facilities, and perimeter locations to help identify unauthorized activity or access control concerns.
Assist with the protection of sensitive property, information, and operations by following established security-related protocols and reporting unusual conditions promptly.

Requirements

A guard card or license is preferred.
CPR and First Aid certification are preferred.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
