Security Officer Secure Entry Operations

About the role

As a Security Officer Secure Entry Operations in Front Royal, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a government location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and provide professional customer service to visitors and personnel. You will use computer or tablet systems to support access control operations, communicate clearly, and help maintain a welcoming, secure environment.

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to visitors, contractors, employees, and/or vendors by carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government maritime transportation location.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and authorization, maintain visitor and contractor logs, and control access to restricted areas in accordance with site requirements.
• Observe vehicle and pedestrian traffic at gates and access points, inspect credentials and/or authorized documentation, and report access concerns or unusual activity to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access points, adjacent areas, and perimeter locations; working environments and conditions may vary by site.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Qualifications

• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.

$21.65 / Hour

Schedule

Monday 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM, Tuesday 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM, Saturday 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM, Sunday 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM
