About the role
As a Security Officer Screening Compliance in Fort Lauderdale, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government and more. Join Allied Universal as a Screener at a government airport development location, where you will conduct X-ray screening, support access control, monitor assigned areas, and help to deter security-related incidents. You will provide professional customer service and clear communication while contributing to a caring, agile, reliable, and innovative team that puts people first and acts with integrity.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to travelers, visitors, and personnel by carrying out security-related screening procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at an airport development location.
- Screen individuals, property, and access points in accordance with established procedures; identify prohibited items, unauthorized access attempts, and/or unusual activity for appropriate follow-up.
- Monitor screening equipment, entry areas, and surrounding activity; maintain accurate logs, incident reports, and required documentation.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, communicating observations to appropriate airport personnel and emergency responders.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned screening areas, public spaces, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity; working environments and conditions may vary by assignment.
Requirements
- Possess at least 3 years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience, or a college degree.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Guard card is required. A state, county, or city-issued security license is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- X-ray screening experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
