About the role

As an Unarmed Security Officer at a residential community in Long Island City, NY, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide exceptional customer service and communication to residents and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and vendors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control practices, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random foot patrols of residential common areas, entrances, exits, hallways, stairwells, parking areas, and the surrounding perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity or maintenance concerns.
• Monitor access to the location, verify authorized visitors and deliveries, maintain visitor logs, and report unauthorized entry attempts according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; document observations and notify appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders when required.
• Complete detailed activity reports, incident reports, and shift handoff communications in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific requirements.

Requirements

• A Guard Card or license is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
