Security Officer - Residential Facility

About the role

Allied Universal® is seeking a full‑time Unarmed Security Officer for emergency coordination in New York, NY. In this position you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to deter incidents, and provide professional customer service to staff and visitors across government and other client sites.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and staff while carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following established reporting procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the facility, surrounding property, and designated perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization as required, and report unusual conditions or policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Prepare accurate incident reports and communicate observations, concerns, and requests for assistance to site leadership and emergency responders as needed.

Minimum Requirements

• Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
• At least 1 year of security‑related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles (21+ for armed roles).
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Pass a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Pass a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Pay

$18.87 per hour.

• Saturday: 12:00 AM – 08:00 AM
• Sunday: 12:00 AM – 08:00 AM
