About the role
As an Access Control Officer at a dynamic technology, media, and telecommunications location in West Columbia, SC, you will help manage entry points, verify access credentials, monitor alarm panels, and support a welcoming environment for employees and visitors. You will provide outstanding customer service, communicate clearly, and use technology to document security-related activity.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a technology-focused location.
- Monitor access points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, maintain visitor logs, and direct guests in accordance with established procedures.
- Respond to access-related incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns to appropriate site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of entrances, lobbies, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
- Maintain accurate activity reports and communicate security-related observations, incidents, and policy concerns in a timely manner.
Requirements
- Have at least two years of security-related experience.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Alarm panel experience is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
