About the role
Iroquois Job Corps is seeking a full-time Security Officer to help provide a safe, secure, and supportive learning environment for students, staff, and visitors. This is more than a traditional security position—you will build positive relationships with students, assist with conflict resolution, and help create an environment where students can focus on achieving their educational and career goals.

Responsibilities
- Patrol assigned areas of campus to ensure the safety and security of students, staff, and visitors.
- Perform routine building security and safety inspections.
- Conduct preliminary investigations and complete incident reports (training provided).
- Enforce Center policies and procedures in a fair, professional, and respectful manner.
- Assist with conflict resolution and de-escalate situations involving students.
- Respond to emergencies and provide appropriate assistance.
- Provide escorts for students, staff, and visitors as needed.
- Monitor campus activity through surveillance camera systems.
- Prepare accurate reports and maintain documentation.
- Work collaboratively with Residential Services, Student Services, Wellness, and other departments to support student success.
- Serve as a positive role model while encouraging accountability, respect, and responsible decision-making among students.

Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of six months of experience in security, law enforcement, military service, corrections, customer service, or a related field preferred.
- Excellent communication, observation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in stressful situations.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to pass a background check.
Schedule
Prime Shift: 3:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.
Days Off: Friday and Saturday
Must be available to work holidays and weekends as scheduled.
Pay
Starting at $18.64 per hour
