Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or members of the public while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with supervisors and/or public agencies as needed.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout assigned buildings, offices, entry points, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or unusual conditions.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify identification and/or credentials, and report suspicious behavior, policy violations, and/or security-related concerns according to post instructions.
• Support public-facing operations by providing clear directions, assisting with routine questions, and maintaining a professional presence during daily activities, special events, and/or after-hours operations.

Minimum Requirements

• Possess a CPO.
• Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
