Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting details and communicating with site contacts and/or public agencies as needed.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout assigned buildings, grounds, access points, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and observe for unusual conditions.
- Monitor entry and exit activity, verify credentials and/or authorizations, and report policy violations, suspicious behavior, and/or prohibited items in accordance with site procedures.
- Support order at the location by following post orders, maintaining a visible presence, and assisting with security-related checks, escorts, and/or controlled movement activities as directed.
Requirements
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- A valid firearms permit is preferred.
- An armed guard card and/or license is preferred.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
