As a Security Officer Patrol Driver Field Observation in Houston, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as retail/malls. As a part‑time Security Officer you can build a schedule that works for you and explore new roles using the Claim a Shift platform. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer at a busy retail location, you will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a welcoming environment for customers and team members. This driving post requires a valid driver’s license. You will deliver exceptional customer service and clear communication while embodying Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, innovative, caring, teamwork‑focused, and integrity‑driven values.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to shoppers, visitors, and store personnel while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating matters according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location, including sales areas, entrances, exits, parking areas, and the perimeter, to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor for security-related concerns, report observations and incidents accurately, and maintain clear communication with site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
• Assist with access control, visitor interactions, and compliance with location policies while maintaining a professional presence.

Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• A guard card/license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
