About the role
This part-time position requires 32 hours bi-weekly and involves varied shifts, including weekends and holidays. A valid driver's license and a clear driving record are mandatory.
Responsibilities
- Enforce Hospital security regulations and report any hazards or unusual occurrences through patrols of assigned areas.
- Provide protective services and respond to various situations, including emergency response.
- Assist with the day-to-day operation of the Department, supporting the Frederick Health mission, vision, core values, and customer service philosophy.
- Support the Compliance Program, adhering to regulatory requirements and the Frederick Health Standards of Behavior.
Requirements
- High school diploma required.
- No prior experience required, but 1-3 years of security or related experience preferred.
- Valid Maryland driver's license or equivalent from the state of residence.
- No violations within the past 3 years, including DUI, reckless driving convictions, or felony driving convictions.
- Criminal background check required.
- De-Escalation Training, IAHSS Basic Officer Certification, CPR, and proper use of equipment and supplies within the first 90 days of employment.
- Clear understanding and use of computer equipment, maintaining confidentiality of information and password.
- Proper use of patient restraint equipment.
- Compliance with department/hospital policies and procedures.
- Ability to deal with and effectively deescalate anxious/stressed people and manage aggression.

Pay
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. For part-time positions, salaries are pro-rated based on scheduled hours. The hourly range is $18.00 - $25.60.
