As a Security Officer Part Time Unarmed Roving Driver in Roanoke, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. This driving post involves conducting routine vehicle and foot patrols, maintaining a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and assisting customers, employees, and visitors with professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, shoppers, and store associates by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating matters according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols throughout retail sales areas, entrances, parking areas, loading zones, and the business perimeter.
• Monitor for suspicious activity, policy violations, hazards, and/or unauthorized access, helping to deter theft and other unwanted activity.
• Document observations, incidents, and patrol activities accurately and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal management.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• A guard card/license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
