This Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced position is a flexible, dependable option for individuals looking to supplement their income, gain hands-on experience, or work toward a full-time career with the industry leader. As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Patrol in Canton, MS, this role provides reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.
- Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
- Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours one week and full-time the next—it’s all up to you. This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week, always with the option to scale back when needed.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel at a technology, media, and telecommunications location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
- Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, entry points, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and maintenance concerns.
- Monitor access points and verify authorization for visitors, contractors, deliveries, and personnel in accordance with site-specific procedures.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; document observations and notify appropriate personnel or emergency responders as directed.
- Complete detailed activity reports, incident reports, and patrol logs while maintaining a professional presence in a fast-paced corporate environment.
Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs is preferred.
- Comfort with using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- CPR certification is preferred.
- Access control or badge experience is preferred.
- X-ray screening experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
