Security Officer Part Time Unarmed Patrol Crime Prevention

About the role

As a Part-Time Unarmed Patrol Security Officer in Portsmouth, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as Healthcare. This role involves monitoring and patrolling assigned areas, maintaining a visible presence to deter security-related incidents, and providing exceptional customer service to patients, visitors, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate hospital personnel and/or emergency responders according to site protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout healthcare facility buildings, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, assist with directions and escorts as assigned, and report unusual conditions or policy violations to site leadership.
• Complete accurate incident reports, daily activity logs, and other required documentation while maintaining a professional presence in a healthcare setting.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation and drug screen in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Qualifications

• CPR certification is preferred.
• A guard card/license is preferred.

$18.07 / hour

Schedule

• Monday: 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM
• Wednesday: 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM
• Friday: 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM
