Security Officer Part Time Unarmed Patrol

About the role

As an Unarmed Security Officer at a retail location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming experience for visitors, tenants, and staff. You will provide exceptional customer service, communicate clearly, and respond to routine concerns with professionalism. Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, shoppers, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a commercial retail location.
• Respond to incidents, service requests, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns according to site-specific procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the property, including common areas, retail spaces, entrances, exits, parking areas, and perimeter locations, to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and observe activity throughout the location, reporting suspicious conditions, maintenance concerns, and security-related incidents to site management and/or Allied Universal leadership.
• Prepare clear and accurate daily activity reports, incident reports, and other required documentation while maintaining a professional presence and appearance.

Requirements

• Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A guard card/license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
