Security Officer Part Time Unarmed Patrol

About the role

As a Part-Time Unarmed Security Officer at a cultural institution in Purchase, NY, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a welcoming experience for guests, staff, and visitors. You will provide outstanding customer service, communicate professionally, and use computer or tablet tools as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and vendors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control practices, and emergency response activities at a cultural institution.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout galleries, public areas, offices, collection-adjacent spaces, and the exterior perimeter to help identify unusual activity or facility concerns.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and visitor flow; verify authorized access to restricted areas and report unauthorized access attempts or policy violations.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, medical situations, and other critical events in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Complete accurate activity reports, incident documentation, and shift communications while maintaining a professional, welcoming presence for museum guests.

Requirements

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Pay

$17.26 - $18.26 / hour

Schedule

• Friday: 12:00 PM - 05:00 PM
• Saturday: 12:00 PM - 05:00 PM
• Sunday: 12:00 PM - 05:00 PM
