Security Officer Part Time Unarmed Overnight

As a Security Officer (Part‑Time) in Shakopee, MN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as government. The position allows you to build a schedule that works for you and explore new roles using the “Claim a Shift” platform. In this unarmed patrol role you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to deter incidents, support access‑control and badge procedures, and provide outstanding customer service, using clear communication and computer or tablet tools to report security‑related concerns while acting with integrity.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and personnel while carrying out site‑specific security‑related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, parking areas, and perimeter to help identify unusual conditions and support site operations.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following established post instructions.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization when required, and report suspicious activity or policy concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain required activity logs for incidents, patrols, and other security‑related observations.

Requirements

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet (preferred).
• Customer service experience (preferred).
• Access‑control and badge experience (preferred).
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 years or older for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply based on state or local regulations.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Pay

$22.15 per hour.

Schedule

Daytime shifts: Monday 11:00 PM – 07:00 AM; Sunday 11:00 PM – 07:00 AM.
