About the role

As an unarmed Security Officer at a utilities location in Fairfax, VA, you will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for employees, visitors, and contractors. This driving position offers the opportunity to deliver exceptional customer service, communicate clearly, and respond to security-related concerns with integrity, teamwork, and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to site personnel, visitors, contractors, and utility customers by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of utility facilities, grounds, access points, equipment areas, and perimeter boundaries to help identify unusual conditions and help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify visitor and contractor authorization, and maintain accurate logs, reports, and other required documentation.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, hazardous conditions, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following site procedures and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Observe and report maintenance concerns, unsecured doors or gates, suspicious activity, and other security-related issues to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• CPR and First Aid certification are preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation and drug screen in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

$18.22 / hour

Schedule

• Day shift: 12:00 AM - 08:00 AM
• Saturday and Sunday
