About the role

The Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced (Unarmed Driver Patrol CPR) position in Fairfax, VA provides reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility to earn more by picking up additional shifts. This part‑time role includes a six‑month commitment to a designated “anchor” shift, with the option to work extra shifts through the Claim‑A‑Shift program and potentially transition to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and utility customers while following site‑specific security procedures and policies.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of utility facilities, buildings, grounds, access points, parking areas, and perimeter areas to identify unusual conditions and deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to restricted operational areas, verify visitor and contractor authorization, and maintain required visitor and access records.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and emergency situations calmly and professionally; notify appropriate personnel and follow established response procedures.
• Document patrols, incidents, observations, and security‑related activities accurately and promptly in accordance with site requirements.

Minimum Requirements

• Valid driver’s license in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy (required for driving positions).
• CPR and First Aid certification (preferred).
• Comfort using a computer or tablet (preferred).
• Customer service experience (preferred).
• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles (21 + for armed roles).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful background investigation and drug screen as required by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply based on state or local regulations.

Pay

$18.22 per hour

Schedule

Daytime Thursday, 12:00 AM – 08:00 AM (fixed‑shift “anchor” shift with a six‑month commitment; additional shifts can be picked up through the scheduling platform).
