Security Officer Part Time Unarmed

About the role

As a Part-Time Unarmed Security Officer in a healthcare setting in Durham, NC, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to deter security-related incidents, and provide outstanding customer service to patients, visitors, and staff. You will use computer or tablet tools to support daily activities while communicating professionally and responding with care.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control protocols, and emergency response activities as appropriate within a healthcare setting.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, or unauthorized access.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established site procedures and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor direction, wayfinding, and compliance with facility entry requirements while maintaining a professional presence.
• Prepare clear and accurate reports of incidents, observations, patrol activities, and security-related concerns in accordance with Allied Universal and site procedures.

Requirements

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws as a condition of employment.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law as a condition of employment.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Pay

$20.46 per hour

Schedule

• Tuesday: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
• Friday: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
• Sunday: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
