Security Officer - Part Time Screening

About the role

As an Access Control Officer at a commercial real estate location in Franklin Park, IL, you will help manage entry points, verify access credentials, monitor activity, and assist visitors, tenants, and employees with professionalism. You will help maintain a welcoming environment, report security-related concerns, and provide exceptional customer service and communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and/or employees by carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a commercial real estate location.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and visitor authorizations, maintain visitor logs, and direct guests in accordance with established site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document activities according to policy.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of building common areas, entry points, parking areas, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity. Working environments and conditions may vary by location.
• Operate access-control and alarm-related systems, observe and report unusual conditions, and complete required reports and shift documentation.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
