Security Officer Part Time Screening Ambassador

About the role

Join Allied Universal as a Screener in a fast-paced distribution location, where you will monitor entry points, screen people and/or property, and support loss prevention efforts through attentive observation and professional communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and drivers by carrying out screening procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location.
• Screen individuals, packages, and/or personal belongings entering or leaving designated areas in accordance with post orders and security-related procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report observations, concerns, and/or irregular activity to the appropriate contacts.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, including shipping, receiving, and access control areas, as working environments and conditions may vary by location.
• Help to deter unauthorized access and policy violations by monitoring entry points, verifying credentials, and documenting screening-related activity in required logs and reports.

Requirements

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Minimum age requirement: 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Must pass a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Must be willing to undergo a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
