Security Officer Part Time Retail

As a Part‑Time Security Officer (Retail) in Bakersfield, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in retail/mall environments, conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, maintain a visible presence to deter incidents, and provide welcoming customer service. This position requires a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, customers, and visitors by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, escalating concerns according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed foot or vehicle patrols throughout the retail location, including sales areas, entrances, parking areas, loading zones, and perimeter.
• Monitor for suspicious activity, policy violations, hazards, and unauthorized access, and report observations to site leadership and/or Allied Universal management.
• Assist with access control, visitor directions, and support for retail operations while maintaining professional communication and accurate activity reports.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license required (driving position).
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Guard card or license preferred.
• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Qualified applicants with criminal histories considered consistent with applicable laws.
• Subject to a drug screen as permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and may be required prior to employment.
