About the role
As a Part-Time Security Officer on the Unarmed Patrol Detail in Jersey City, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as Financial Institutions. This role offers flexibility to build a schedule that works for you and explore new roles using our Claim a Shift platform. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to deter incidents, and provide exceptional customer service and communication.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors at a financial institution by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of building interiors, exterior grounds, parking areas, and perimeter access points to help identify and report unusual conditions.
- Monitor access points and observe visitor, employee, and contractor activity in accordance with site-specific procedures.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and documenting activities as required.
- Complete required reports, maintain accurate logs, and communicate security-related concerns to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.
Requirements
- Have at least one year of security-related experience.
- Be at least 21 years of age (18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles).
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Pass a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Pass a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Comply with licensing requirements subject to state and/or local laws and regulations, which may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
