About the role
As a Part-Time Unarmed Security Officer in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as Government. This role offers flexibility to build a schedule that works for you and explore new roles using our Claim a Shift platform. As an Unarmed Security Officer supporting a government services location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to deter incidents, and provide exceptional customer service and communication. You will support a welcoming environment for staff and visitors while responding to security-related concerns with professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and partner agencies by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a government-operated service location.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and notification procedures.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned interior and exterior areas, entrances, common spaces, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and policy violations.
- Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization as required, and help maintain orderly entry and exit procedures.
- Prepare accurate incident reports, daily activity logs, and shift handoff communications in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.
Requirements
- Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
- Have at least one year of security-related experience.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Pass a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Pass a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Pay
$18.87 / hour
Schedule
- Friday: 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM
- Saturday: 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM
