Security Officer Part Time Driver Screening

About the role
As a Screener at a government location, you will help maintain a secure environment by screening visitors, managing access, and supporting security-related operations. You will provide professional customer service, communicate clearly with the public and site personnel, and use sound judgment to help identify and report concerns. Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public while carrying out site-specific procedures and security-related policies at a government location.
- Screen individuals and permitted belongings using assigned screening equipment and procedures, reporting prohibited items or irregularities to appropriate personnel.
- Verify access credentials, direct visitors according to established entry requirements, and maintain accurate visitor and screening-related records.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following emergency response procedures and notifying appropriate personnel.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned public areas, entry points, and the surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
Requirements
- A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
- At least 3 years of combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience or a college degree is required.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
