About the role
The Rose Gaming Resort is a $480 million gaming and entertainment complex destination, located alongside I-95 in Dumfries, Virginia. It includes a luxury hotel, eight bars and restaurants, a space for meetings and events, 50,000+ square foot gaming space, and over 1,650 Historical Horse Racing machines, along with over 80 acres of green space. The resort generates an estimated $35.5 million in annual tax revenues and employs more than 500 team members.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Practices, supports, and maintains the Mission, Vision, and Values of The Rose Gaming Resort.
- Responsible for the safety of all guests and employees of the casino/hotel.
- Records investigation and incident reports in a timely manner.
- Provides customer service to all guests when needed.
- Affords assistance with the transfer of money and chips from casino floor.
- Patrols casino/hotel during shift to ensure safety.
- Maintains casino rules, policies and regulations are being followed set by the casino and the VA Gaming Commission.
- Stands post for extended times as assigned by manager.
- Reports to supervisor/manager on responsibilities on day-to-day activities.
- Controls and diffuses potential problems and assists employees and guests in emergencies.
- Controls access to the video lottery facility and restricted areas.
- Responds to back-up calls immediately.
- May act in place of Security Lead as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Attend required training sessions offered by the Company.
- Obtain and retain required license(s).
- Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.
- Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.
- Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the Team Member’s department.
- Have knowledge of the Property’s programs to address problem gaming.
- Report any acts of wrongdoing of which the Team Member may have knowledge.
Education and Experience
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Experience within law enforcement, military, security, or customer service to equal one year, or pursuing a degree in law enforcement, criminal justice, related field, or in-pursuit of one of these degrees.
- Successful completion of an in-house training program.
- Ability to communicate and comprehend information and ideas in spoken and written English so others will understand.
- Ability to accept, prioritize and follow through on work direction.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to remain calm and effective in stressful situations, utilizing rational thinking and decision making.
- Valid driver’s license may be required with a good driving record.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Flexibility to work including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- The ability to lift, push and pull up to 50-100 pounds.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
- Virginia Racing Commission License
- Valid Driver’s License with a minimum of three (3) years driving experience.
