Security Officer (Part-Time)

Primary Responsibilities

  • Maintains security by monitoring employee ingress and egress at access card entry and exit points.
  • Manages guest/visitor registration and ensures timely, polite, and professional handling of visitors.
  • Engages in security duties and collaborates with the Emergency Response Team (ERT), public safety resources, and police/fire personnel.
  • Operates and monitors electronic security systems, generates logs, and responds to incidents/emergencies.
  • Facilitates building evacuation training and assists in emergency response.
  • Conducts physical checks and confirms/investigates deliveries and shipments.
  • Escorts and transports select employees and executives for personal protection.
  • Works flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

  • High school diploma with advanced study in Law Enforcement and Asset/Personal Protection preferred.
  • Prior certification as a State or Federal Law Enforcement Officer.
  • At least 5 years of law enforcement experience with an honorable separation or retirement.
  • Fluency in reading and writing English.
  • Flexible schedule and ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a Security Officer license in Illinois.
  • Certified in first-aid and CPR or the ability to obtain these certifications.
  • Physical ability to lift at least 35 pounds, sit, stand, and work in various temperatures.

Qualifications

Pay

The expected hourly rate for this position is $25.00-$27.00 per hour. The selected candidate's hourly rate is based on numerous factors such as, but limited to work experience, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, skill level, and geographic location. This is the current estimate of the hourly rate range intended for this role at the time of this posting. The hourly rate range may be modified in the future.

Schedule

Works as required/when necessary including on varying shifts; days, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed to fulfill the responsibilities outlined above.
