Security Officer Part Time Armed Patrol Inspection

About the role

As an Armed Patrol Officer at a government transportation location in Surry, VA, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and respond professionally to situations as they arise. You will provide exceptional customer service and clear communication while supporting a welcoming environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned facilities, grounds, access points, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and policy violations.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials as required, and maintain awareness of personnel and vehicle activity entering and leaving the location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and public emergency services when needed.
• Prepare clear and accurate reports on incidents, observations, patrols, and other security-related activities in accordance with site procedures.

Requirements

• Possess an Armed Guard Card or License.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Pass a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Pass a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Comply with licensing requirements subject to state and/or local laws and regulations, which may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Pay

$18.50 / hour

Schedule

• Tuesday: 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM
• Wednesday: 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM
• Saturday: 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM
