Security Officer Part Time Armed Patrol

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Armed Patrol in Jackson, MS, you will commit to a fixed shift for six months while having the option to claim extra shifts through our scheduling platform.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and the public while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government institution.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and effectively, following established post orders and escalation procedures.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization for individuals entering restricted areas in accordance with site-specific requirements.
• Document patrols, incidents, observations, and security-related activities accurately and communicate relevant information to supervisors.

Requirements

• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Possession of an armed guard card/license is preferred.
• Access control/badge experience is preferred.
• Possession of a valid firearms permit is preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must pass a background investigation in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Must pass a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participation in industry-specific security training programs is required.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Pay

$15.38 per hour.

• Thursday: 03:00 PM - 07:00 PM
• Friday: 03:00 PM - 07:00 PM
