About the role

This Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced position is a flexible, dependable option for individuals looking to supplement their income, gain hands-on experience, or work toward a full-time career. As a Security Officer Part Time Armed Driver Patrol in Fairfax, VA, you’ll have reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility to earn more by picking up additional shifts.

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: Pick up extra shifts through our scheduling platform to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours one week and full-time the next—it’s up to you. This role allows you to build up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week, with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, disturbances, and other critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout healthcare facilities, parking areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and support visitor, patient, and staff access procedures in accordance with site-specific requirements.
• Document incidents, observations, and patrol activities, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and/or emergency responders as needed.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of security-related experience.
• Valid armed guard card or license.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Valid driver’s license (in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements).
• Valid Virginia DCJS license.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
