Security Officer Part Time Alarm Dispatch

About the role

As a Part-Time Security Officer Alarm Dispatch in Norfolk, VA, you will coordinate communications, monitor activity, and relay timely information to on-site teams and stakeholders at a technology, media, and telecommunications location. Your visible presence and responsive service will help deter incidents while supporting a welcoming environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
• Monitor communications systems, receive and document calls for service, and dispatch appropriate personnel in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating notifications and maintaining accurate incident logs.
• Monitor access control, alarm, and video systems as assigned, reporting unusual activity and escalating concerns according to site-specific protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.

Requirements

• A Guard Card/License is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
