About the role

As a Part-Time Access Monitoring Security Officer in Montgomery, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as Logistics & Distribution. This role involves managing entry points, verifying credentials, monitoring access activity, conducting routine patrols, and providing visible deterrence to security-related incidents. You will deliver outstanding customer service and clear communication while supporting a team that values care, agility, reliability, and integrity.

Position Type: Part Time

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Control access to the facility by verifying credentials, monitoring entry and exit points, and documenting visitor, contractor, and delivery activity.
• Monitor access control systems, alarms, cameras, and related equipment; report irregularities, unauthorized access attempts, and maintenance concerns.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly, following site-specific procedures and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, loading areas, parking areas, business operations, and the perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.

Requirements

• Loss Prevention experience is preferred.
• Access Control/Badge Experience is preferred.
• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories consistent with applicable laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
