Security Officer Part Time Access Management

About the role

As an Access Control Officer at a residential community, you will help create a welcoming, secure environment by monitoring entry points, verifying authorized access, and assisting residents, visitors, and vendors with professionalism. You will maintain a visible presence, communicate clearly, document security-related activity, and help deter incidents through attentive service.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and vendors by carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Monitor and control entry and exit at residential community access points, verifying authorization and directing guests, deliveries, and service personnel in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, communicating observations to appropriate personnel.
• Maintain accurate access-related logs, visitor records, and incident documentation according to site-specific requirements.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of residential common areas, entry points, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Possess a Guard Card or license preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
