About the role
As an Access Control Officer at a government transportation location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and provide professional customer service and communication. Your visible presence and attention to detail will help deter incidents while supporting a welcoming environment for employees and visitors.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors, employees, contractors, and/or vendors by carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government maritime transportation location.
- Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and authorizations, manage visitor access, and maintain accurate access-control records in accordance with site requirements.
- Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, promptly communicating relevant information to appropriate personnel.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access points, facilities, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
- Report observed incidents, policy violations, damaged equipment, and other security-related concerns through required documentation and communication channels.
Requirements
- Possess a Transportation Worker Identification Credential issued by TSA.
- A Guard Card or license is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
