About the role
As an Access Control Officer at a healthcare location, you will help maintain a welcoming, secure environment by monitoring access points, verifying credentials, assisting visitors, and responding to security-related concerns. You will remain visible, communicate professionally with patients, staff, and guests, and provide exceptional customer service. Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors by carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Monitor and control access to the healthcare location by verifying credentials, directing visitors, maintaining visitor records, and following facility entry requirements.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and documenting activities according to site procedures.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of entrances, parking areas, and designated perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.
- Assist with maintaining an orderly environment by providing directions, reporting access-control issues, and communicating professionally with Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.
Requirements
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
