As an Unarmed Security Officer at a retail and mall location, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and assist visitors, tenants, and staff with professionalism. You will support access control and respond to alarm-related activity while delivering exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, shoppers, and/or employees by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents, guest concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating matters according to site procedures.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of retail common areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, access points, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
- Monitor for unusual activity, property conditions, and potential hazards, documenting observations and reporting concerns to appropriate site contacts.
- Assist with access control, visitor direction, and traffic flow while maintaining a professional presence throughout the location.
Qualifications
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
Preferred skills
- Alarm panel experience.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet.

- Access control and badge experience.
