Security Officer Part Time Access Authorization

About the role

As an Access Control Officer at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will monitor entry points, verify access credentials, maintain visitor and access records, and respond to security-related concerns. You will provide outstanding customer service, communicate clearly with employees and visitors, and help to deter incidents through a professional presence.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, access-control protocols, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a chemical/petrochemical location.
• Monitor and control access to the facility by verifying credentials, screening visitors, issuing visitor passes, and maintaining accurate entry and exit records.
• Respond to access-related incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, operational areas, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized entry and identify potential hazards or irregular conditions.
• Communicate professionally with employees, contractors, drivers, and visitors while documenting incidents, observations, and shift activity in required reports.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
