Security Officer Package Screening

About the role

As a Security Officer Package Screening in Auburndale, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom. This part-time position offers flexibility to build a schedule that works for you through our Claim a Shift platform. You will help create a welcoming, secure environment by screening visitors and personnel, monitoring access points, and delivering attentive customer service.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and delivery personnel by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access-screening protocols, and emergency response activities.
• Screen individuals, personal belongings, and deliveries in accordance with established procedures; verify credentials, maintain access logs, and direct visitors to appropriate locations.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; promptly notify appropriate personnel and prepare accurate reports.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned technology and media facilities, entry points, business areas, and perimeter locations to help identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
• Operate screening equipment and communication systems in accordance with site procedures while maintaining a professional and courteous presence.

Requirements

• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
