Security Officer - Overnight Weekdays

About the role
As a Security Officer X Ray Parcel Inspection in Indianapolis, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. You will help support a secure environment by operating screening equipment, monitoring access points, and observing packages and personnel for security-related concerns. You will remain visible, communicate professionally, and provide exceptional customer service while helping to deter incidents.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and delivery personnel while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
- Screen employees, visitors, packages, and/or vehicles entering the logistics and distribution location in accordance with established access-control procedures.
- Monitor screening equipment, access points, and related activity; report prohibited items, irregularities, and security-related concerns to appropriate personnel.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following site-specific procedures and escalation protocols.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of designated areas, access points, loading areas, and the perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
Requirements
- X-Ray screening experience is preferred.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Loss prevention experience is preferred.
- Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
