Security Officer Morning Patrol

About the role

As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a premier retail and mall destination in Salt Lake City, UT, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide outstanding customer service to visitors, tenants, and staff. You will communicate clearly, respond to security-related concerns, and support a welcoming environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, and retail staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the retail center, common areas, parking facilities, and perimeter to help identify and report security-related concerns.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, contacting appropriate personnel and/or emergency responders as needed.
• Monitor access points, observe activity throughout the location, and help maintain an orderly environment for shoppers, employees, and guests.
• Prepare clear and accurate reports of incidents, observations, and daily activities in accordance with site-specific requirements.

Requirements

• A guard card or license is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Comfort with using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
