Security Officer - Monroe, LA
About the role
Provides armed security on assigned Company properties. Performs uniformed security shift work and assists with investigations as directed by management.
Responsibilities
- Provides armed physical security and at assigned locations.
- Assists with security training and internal investigations.
- Maintains safety and security equipment and processes.
- Assists with providing on-site training for newly assigned security officers.
- Responsible for filling position vacancies/working flexible shifts due to scheduling conflicts.
- Responsible for the use, maintenance of, and response to security alarms and other security systems at distribution centers.
- Maintains vehicular and pedestrian access and traffic at non-retail locations.
- Complies with state and private security and safety regulations.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Two or more years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and higher education preferred.
- Valid state driver's license required.
- Minimum of 21 years of age required.
- Texas Department of Public Safety Level III certification required (must be acquired within six months of hire; training program available for uncertified candidates).

- Must be able to pass post-offer general physical and physical agility test for job related tasks. Includes a minimum of 18 push-ups, 16 sit-ups (within 1 minute), elliptical (5 minutes), and 125lbs body drag for 15 yards.
Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of the warehouse communications system.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to pass post-offer medical evaluation including but not limited to medical background check, vision test, hearing test, physical agility test, etc. for job related tasks.
- Ability to demonstrate how to safely operate a firearm.
- Ability to comprehend and interpret information.
- Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence.
- Ability to learn new technology systems, methods and processes.
- Ability to reason, form concepts and recognize and solve problems.
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
- Ability to occasionally travel to off-site and out-of-town locations with possible overnight stays.
- Ability to work on-call and flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays.
- Must be attentive to potential hazards and remedy or place appropriate warning signs or devices around or near the hazard as soon as is reasonably possible.
- Must report any potential hazards that cannot be immediately remedied to a supervisor.
