Security Officer I - NBMC (Full Time, Night)
About the role
The Uniformed Security Officer at NorthBay Health is responsible for promoting a safe healthcare environment by serving as a deterrent to criminal activity or behavior that violates NBHC policy. They primarily work at NorthBay campuses conducting rounds, providing escorts, assuming fixed posts, opening and securing entryways and exits, and performing other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Provide a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
- Identify and resolve security-related problems.
- Assume responsibility for all medical facilities owned and/or operated by NorthBay HealthCare.
- Prepare detailed reports documenting responses to calls for service.
- Interview persons with complaints and make proper dispositions or direct them to the appropriate authorities.
- Give advice and general information to inquiries from the public.
- Conduct patrols and/or assume a fixed post.
- Enter or retrieve data from a computer terminal, PC, or other keyboard device.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Possession of a high-school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Licensure: Valid motor vehicle license and willingness to operate motor vehicles in the course of employment. Current and valid B.S.I.S. California Guard Card required.
Skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to handle emotional situations and needs.
- Working knowledge of PC computers and their programs.
- Communication and conflict resolution skills.

Compensation Structure
NorthBay Health uses a structured compensation framework. Staff-level positions use a step-based system (Steps 1–5) based on years of directly related experience, with Step 5 representing 20 or more years of experience in the role. Manager level and above positions are paid a fixed annual base salary and are eligible for a variable incentive compensation plan. Physician compensation is structured based on specialty and role requirements.

NorthBay Health is primarily an onsite organization due to the nature of healthcare. Some roles may allow hybrid or remote work based on business needs. Remote work is not supported in Washington, Ohio, Wyoming, North Dakota, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, or outside of the United States.
