Security Officer - Hospital Safety Specialist

About the role
As an Armed Security Officer in a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support patients, visitors, and staff with exceptional customer service and communication. Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with access concerns, visitor-related matters, and emergency department activity as directed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of healthcare facility areas, parking locations, and the property perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
- Help to deter unauthorized access and disruptive behavior by monitoring entrances, exits, and restricted areas in accordance with site procedures.
- Document incidents, observations, and security-related activities accurately and communicate relevant information to appropriate personnel.
Requirements
- A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
- Meet hospital vaccination requirements.
- Be able to work in/around a hospital morgue.
- Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
- Have at least six months of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Be able to restrain individuals in a hospital setting.

Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
