Security Officer Hospital Patrol Specialist

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities within a public healthcare location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with staff, visitors, and/or public agency personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Maintain access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Monitor access points and observe visitor and staff movement in accordance with location protocols, reporting concerns and/or suspicious activity to the proper contacts.
• Document incidents, patrol activities, and/or notable observations in required reports, and assist with directing people during medical, weather, and/or other emergency situations.

Requirements

• Hospital vaccinations are required.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Pass a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Pass a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licenses are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Qualifications

Skills

• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to respond calmly and problem-solve in emergencies.
• Knowledge of hospital-specific policies and procedures.
• Basic knowledge of access control and badge systems.

$17.87 - $18.87 / Hour

DayTime, Monday 03:30 PM - 12:00 AM, Friday 11:59 PM - 08:00 AM
